About

I'm a creative designer, tutor, workshop facilitator and postgraduate researcher.

My research focuses on Black students’ higher education experiences and mental well-being whilst studying. My PhD embraces the worlds of design, education and mental wellbeing. The study explores Black students’ experience of university life with participatory, design-led methods.

My design practice is centred on theories of human interaction, user experience and design thinking. I'm also guided by critical theories of race and education, and influenced by mental health literacy and health humanities.

My study allows her to highlight design’s value in academic research and platform Black voices in higher education.

I've worked on creative briefs across many industries, from technology to health. I also facilitate workshops on various topics such as: introducing creative students to design theory, creative careers for students and using co-design to explore mental health with school leavers.

I provide 1-2-1 tutoring and support to creative FE and HE students. My other passion lies in widening participation in creative and design fields for students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.

I am currently a Student Advisor on Student Minds' 2022 Advisory Committee (the UK’s student mental health charity).
